The EU countries import about 1 million MT of peaches and nectarines a year since the  last seven years. European apricot imports have risen by 22 per cent from 2001 to 2010. Europe imported 828 699 MT of peaches and nectarines in 2001. The imports of the European countries reached 1 012 382 MT in 2010. Germany is the largest EU importer followed by France, Poland, United Kingdom and Italy.

During the last ten years, French peach and nectarine imports have risen by 50 per cent since the French peach and nectarine imports reached 115 849 MT in 2010 and 115 844 MT in 2011.
 
In 2011, the largest supplier of France has been Spain with 107 227 MT followed by Italy (2 517 MT) and Morocco (1 932 MT).  From January till the first of June 2012, France imported 13 975 MT of peaches and nectarines, mostly from Spain (9 099 MT) and Morocco (2 897 MT).
 
During the 2012 season, the largest peach and nectarine suppliers of France have been Spain ( 112 932 MT), Italy ( 6 375 MT), Morocco ( 3 202 MT) .
 
During the 2013 season, the largest peach and nectarine suppliers of France have been Spain (132 874 MT), Italy (4 375 MT) and Morocco ( 3 484 MT).
 
During the first five months of the 2014 season ( January till the 1st of June 2014), France imported a total of  27 234 MT of peaches and nectarines ( mosttly from Spain : 21 055 MT and Morocco : 3 586 MT ). France exported ( during this same period a total of  7 027 MT of peaches and nectarines.
